Pension Application for Archibal Glasier

On
this 2nd day April 1833 personally appeared before me a Justice of the peace
in and for the said County and state above named, Archibal Glasier aged fifty
eight years a resident of the said county of Washington who being duly
sworn according to law declares that he is the identical archibal Glasier who
was a private in the Artillary Company Commanded by Captain Robert Archibal
in the fifteenth regiment of Militia Commanded by John McClary in the war with
Great Britain declared by the United States on the 1st day of June 1812 that
he volunteered as a substitute for and in place of Archibal Grimes at the town
of Hebron in the said County and State above named on the 8th day of September
1814 for a term or service and served in said war at the invasion of Plattsbrugh
for the term of 14 days and was honorably discharged at Burlington in
the State of Vermont on the evening of the 16th day September 1814 one hundred
miles distance from home and from where he was mustered into service.
He
makes this declaration from the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which
he may be entitled under the act of March 3, 1833. He also declares that
he had not received a warrant for bounty land under this or any other Act of
Congress nor made any other application therefore.
